The mission of the WRC is to provide advocacy, education, and services to the community in order to create a safe, supportive environment that eliminates violence against women and children and promotes gender equality.Position Available: Trauma Therapist is a 35-hour, exempt, salaried, position for a licensed and experienced candidate.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, up to two evenings, in-person
Description: The Trauma Therapist will provide compassionate and comprehensive trauma-informed and client-centered assessments and crisis intervention, counseling, individual and group therapy to adults who have experienced trauma (domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, bullying, stalking, dating violence, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
Provides individual therapy to adult victims of violence.
Facilitates therapeutic support groups or group therapy.
Maintains confidentiality of all clients/agency information.
Responds to crisis intervention and hotline calls as part of the larger team.
Attends, participates in, or conducts various conferences, meetings, and trainings
Maintains case records and reports as required.Education and skills:

Join a team of dedicated staff who provide residential support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This confidential domestic violence shelter provides respite for up to 15 victims and their children. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure victims and survivors have access to the services and supports that will assist them in recovery and during their safe transition to housing.The WRC is looking for a dedicated, motivated, self directed individuals who will have the availability to work full-time evening hours as well as some overtime and holidays as needed. Must have excellent organization skills, computer skills and have the ability to assist in residential facilities daily operations and residential client services.
Case Manager/Advocates provide support, advocacy and case management services to shelter residents. They respond to the immediate needs of the residents and hotline callers. They support, coordinate, and advocate for clients with local community providers including but not limited to: Social Services, criminal justice system, housing etc. assists residents with goal development and obtaining housing. They are responsible for following policies and procedures of the agency and ensuring the health, safety and confidentiality of all residents at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Crisis Intervention
Provides individual peer counseling
Providing crime victim compensation information and assistance filling out OVS application
Provide transportation and accompaniment to various appointments transportation such as DSS, housing, medical, training, education
Provide personal and criminal justice support and advocacy
Provide follow up to DV victims
Provide phone counseling
Provide information and referral to DSS, legal services, housing, medical, educational, CPS, DOH, ACS, and preventative services.
Responsible for assisting clients in obtaining out of county approval, and applying for payment for shelter stay within 48 hours.
All WRC staff are mandated reporters and must adhere to those policies.
Assist residents with creation of safety plan and service plan development.
Responsible for shelter communication log.
Responsible for completing data entries on a daily/weekly basis.
Responsible for following all shelter regulations and agency policies and procedures.
Responsible for following daily protocols and procedures including daily duties as assigned.
Responsible for house supervision
Conducts post exit room clean-up with client and completing the discharge safety exit.
Assist in the daily upkeep of the shelter.
Attend in-service training sessions as required.
Complete intakes for new residents.
Hotline phone coverage and responds to all hotline calls per shelter/agency protocol.Education and Skills :

The mission of the WRC is to provide advocacy, education, and services to the community in order to create a safe, supportive environment that eliminates violence against women and children and promotes gender equality.Position Available : the Victim Advocate/ Community Outreach employee directly assists victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in obtaining legal relief and assistance through the community and within the court systems. Advocacy services include compensation claims assistance, assessments and opening new cases, counseling, hot line phone coverage, information and referrals, criminal justice support and advocacy, emergency assistance, personal advocacy.
The Victim Advocate/Community Outreach employee works to coordinate, develop, and facilitate workshops, presentations and trainings to provide outreach and education throughout the community as requested.
This community outreach prevention program will address the needs of those at-risk who are, have been or maybe exposed to domestic violence, sexual assault, bullying, dating violence and other related areas with a primary focus on teaching violence prevention and creating healthy relationships.
Primary Work Location: The Victim Advocate/Community Outreach employee will be co-located at both the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center's main office in Mahopac, NY as well as the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) in Brewster N.Y. In addition, this employee must be able to travel and work at other locations as assigned.
Education and Skills: High School Diploma a must however a BS or BA related field with professional experience preferred.
Strong speaking and relationship building skills a must.
Excellent writing skills a plus.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Part-Time (21 hours per week) Grant Writer to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a critical role in securing the financial resources necessary to sustain and expand our life-saving programs and services. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, and managing the grant application process from start to finish.Responsibilities:
Identify, research, and evaluate and apply for potential grant funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with the Center's mission and programs.
Develop, write, and submit high-quality, persuasive, and grammatically correct grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
Collaborate closely with executive leadership and the grants manager to gather necessary information and data for grant applications and reports.
Maintain a detailed grants calendar, tracking deadlines for proposals, reports, and other grant-related activities.
Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant renewals to funders, ensuring compliance with all current grant requirements.
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grant-making organizations.
Stay informed about current trends in philanthropy, grant funding, and domestic violence/sexual assault services.
Assist with other fundraising activities and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Marketing, Non-profit Management, Public Administration).
Minimum of 2-4 years of successful grant writing experience, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Demonstrated track record of securing significant grant awards.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to synthesize information from various sources.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with grant management software/databases preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
