He Ran for Her: One Man. One Marathon. One Mission to End Domestic Violence.
We are honored to share that Ansel Francis completed the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12th, 2025 on behalf of the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center!
Ansel ran the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon to raise awareness and critical funds for survivors of domestic violence. Every mile he completed represented a step toward safety, healing, and empowerment for those rebuilding their lives after abuse. He chose to run in support of the Putnam Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center, honoring its unwavering commitment to providing shelter, counseling, advocacy, and education for individuals and families affected by domestic violence.
Crossing the finish line in under four hours, a feat in and of itself, Ansel ran with the strength and courage of survivors in mind.
“The courage it takes to escape abuse and start over is more powerful than any race. I ran to honor that courage and to help build a world where everyone has access to safety, support, and hope.” – Ansel
Through this marathon, Ansel not only met a personal goal, he honored the courage of survivors and contributed to a future where safety and support are available to all.
We thank Ansel and everyone who supported his journey!
