He’s Running for Her: One Man. One Marathon. One Mission to End Domestic Violence.

Support survivors and the Putnam Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center—every mile brings hope.
A marathon for every woman and child who needed to flee—and the center that helps them heal.

We are honored to share that Ansel Francis will be running the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12th, 2025 on behalf of the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center! When asked about the marathon, Ansel had this to say:

1. Why are you running the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon?

I’m running the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon to raise awareness and vital funds for survivors of domestic violence. Every mile I run is a step toward safety, healing, and empowerment for those affected by abuse. I’ve chosen to support the Putnam Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center because of their tireless work in providing shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and education to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. Their trauma-informed approach and commitment to breaking the cycle of abuse inspire me to use this platform to amplify their mission and help ensure their services remain accessible to those who need them most.

2. Who or what is your motivation or inspiration for running this marathon?

My motivation for running this marathon comes from survivors of domestic violence especially those who have found strength and support through organizations like the PNWWRC. I’m also inspired by the resilience of individuals and loved ones, who have experienced the lasting effects of trauma. The courage it takes to seek help, to rebuild, and to believe in a life free from violence is more powerful than any race. Through this marathon, I hope to honor that courage and contribute to a future where safety and support are available to all.
